YouRefresh Community Guidelines

Updated: 9/15/2025

At YouRefresh, we empower anyone to create interactive, curated link pages - a new kind of social platform where influence is driven by participation, not algorithms. To keep the platform safe, engaging, and fair for all users, we've established the following Community Guidelines. These Guidelines apply to all content, interactions, and activity on YouRefresh and are enforceable in addition to our Terms of Use.

1. Respect Others

  • Do not harass, bully, threaten, or defame other users.
  • No hate speech, racism, sexism, or content targeting anyone based on religion, ethnicity, gender, nationality, or sexual orientation.
  • Disagreement is welcome - but personal attacks or incitement of harm are not.

2. No Illegal or Harmful Content

You may not post, link to, or encourage:

  • Child exploitation or abuse
  • Incitement to violence or terrorism
  • Self-harm or suicide
  • The sale or promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, or counterfeit goods
  • Content that violates U.S. or international laws

3. Respect Copyright and Intellectual Property

  • Do not post or link to copyrighted content unless you have the legal right to do so.
  • Respect fair use, and always credit original creators when applicable.
  • If you are a rights holder and believe your content was used without permission, you can file a DMCA request.

4. Link Responsibly

YouRefresh is about link sharing, but:

  • Do not post deceptive, misleading, or malicious links (e.g., phishing, malware, scams).
  • Do not engage in link spamming or repetitive low-quality submissions.
  • NSFW or sensitive material must be clearly labeled and age-restricted.

5. No Manipulation or Exploitation

You may not:

  • Artificially inflate views, likes, or "moves" (e.g., through bots or fake accounts)
  • Promote schemes promising followers, engagement, or financial returns
  • Abuse platform mechanics (e.g., voting rings, mass reporting)

6. Privacy Matters

  • Do not publish anyone's private information without consent (e.g., phone numbers, addresses, personal documents).
  • Do not impersonate other individuals, public figures, or brands.

7. Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict functionality, or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent bans. We review content based on context - including intent, frequency, and impact. Our goal is to balance expression with platform safety.

8. Report Violations

If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it via the "Report" feature on the platform or contact our moderation team directly at: support@yourefresh.com

9. Chat Guidelines

YouRefresh offers two types of chatrooms:

  • A global chatroom open to the entire community
  • Personal user chatrooms, visible across all pages owned by that user

To keep chat spaces welcoming and productive, all participants must follow these rules:

  • Be respectful and constructive in your conversations.
  • No trolling, spam, self-promotion, or flooding the chat.
  • Do not share NSFW content, illegal material, or offensive media in any chatroom.
  • Use your personal chatroom to build community - not to target, harass, or solicit others.
  • Global chat is moderated. Repeated violations may lead to temporary or permanent bans from chat features.

Treat chats as real conversations with real people. Be human, be helpful, and keep it clean.

10. Be a Good Citizen of the Web

YouRefresh is an experiment in public collaboration - part bulletin board, part media platform, part influence engine. Contribute with honesty, curiosity, and purpose. Remember: Every move counts.

11. YouRefresh Handle Guidelines

Your handle is your identity on YouRefresh. Think of it as your @name across the entire platform. To keep things safe and fair for everyone, here are the simple rules:

What You Can Do

  • Pick something unique that represents you, your hub, or your brand.
  • Be creative! Handles can be fun, professional, or personal.
  • Use letters, numbers, and symbols (within limits).

What You Cannot Do

  • No Impersonation: Don't pretend to be someone you're not (e.g., @Google, @TaylorSwift).
  • No Trademarks: Don't use company names, logos, or registered marks you don't own.
  • No Misleading Names: Don't trick people into thinking your page is "official" if it isn't.
  • No Harmful Content: Handles with offensive, hateful, or illegal words aren't allowed.

Reserved Handles

Some big names (like brands, public figures, and @YouRefresh itself) are reserved. This means you won't be able to claim them unless you're officially connected to that name.

Parody, Fans, & Fun

Fan pages and parody accounts are welcome - as long as it's clear you're not the official account. For example:

  • @GoogleFanClub
  • @TaylorSwiftParody
  • @Google

What Happens if Rules Are Broken

If a handle breaks these rules, we may:

  • Suspend or remove it.
  • Ask you to change it.
  • Transfer it to the rightful owner (in trademark cases).

Thank you for helping make YouRefresh a space driven by people, not platforms.
